If self-preservation is an instinct you possess

If self-preservation is an instinct you possess

Remember that iconic scene from Pulp Fiction, where Vincent is so careless as to ask for “a please would be nice” before getting to work. The scene is legendary. It encapsulates everything that’s important about consultancy, advise and mentorship - Mr. Wolf being the mentor: You can’t help anyone, unless they truly want to be helped.

Wolf: Jimmi lead the way. Boys, get to work.
Vincent: “Please” would be nice.
Wolf: Come again?
Vincent: I said “a please would be nice”.

Wolf: Get this straight Buster; I’m not here to say please, I’m here to tell you what to do. And if self-preservation is an instinct you possess then you’d better fucking do it and do it quick. I’m here to help, and if my help is not appreciated; Lot’s of luck gentlemen!
Jules: No, no, no! It ain’t like that Mr. Wolf, you help is definitely needed.
Vincent: Mr. Wolf, listen. I don’t mean disrespect, I respect you. I just don’t like people barking orders at me, that’s all.
Wolf: If I’m curt with you it’s because time is a factor; I think fast, I talk fast, and I need you boys to act fast if you wanna get out of this. So “Pretty please, with sugar on top - clean the fucking car”
